This hand-moulded facing brick is made from Limburger löss clay from the Kesselt tableland in the valley of the Meuse and revalue with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
The facade bricks (non-perforated) have fi ve sand covered sides and one oblong groove. The structure looks rugged with fi ne and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel oven under slightly reduced atmos- phere.
The brick has a reddish base. The typical old aspect is the result of the wet and unbaked bricks’ treatment with various admixtures. In addition, the various types of sand are responsible for calcareous sediments slightly diminishing the red colour. The hues range from soft red to dark red with beige, white and grey shadings. The moulding procedure with the specifically for the purpose designed hand-moulding equipment ensures an extremely close resemblance with real recuperated bricks, combined with the identical physical features of our entire wide variety of products. The bricks are coarse-grained and irregularly shaped.
