Youthful eagerness. The Hebe hand-moulded facing brick is part of the Hammered range of Nelissen Brickworks. The facing brick (non-perforated) is sanded on five sides and may be provided with an elongated oblique notch on one flat side. The structure has a rugged appearance with irregular ribs in the sanding. The baking process is carried out in a gas-fired tunnel furnace under slightly reduced pressure. The rugged retro look of this brick is obtained by using a special ageing process. The base of the brick is yellow. The colour variations are pastel-coloured shades from orange-red to dark red, alternating with yellow nuances. This is all done in a well-defined ratio, with white deposits visible. The ageing process also influences the colour shades.
