Description
This hand-moulded facing brick is made from Limburger löss clay from the Kesselt tableland in the valley of the Meuse and revalue with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
Pressure
The facade bricks (non-perforated) have five sand covered sides and one oblong groove. The structure looks rugged with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process takes place in a gas-heated tunnel oven un- der slightly reduced atmosphere.
Color
The brick has a red base, and the hues vary from burgundy to dark red with purple shades. The shading is obtained from a mixture of lössial clay with reddish brown, granular and moist sand and various melted oxides in accurately defined proportions.
