Description
This hand-moulded facing brick is made from Limburger löss clay from the Kesselt tableland in the valley of the Meuse and revalue with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.
Pressure
The facade bricks (non-perforated) have fi ve sand covered sides and one oblong groove. The structure looks rugged with fi ne and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process takes place in a gas-heat- ed tunnel oven under slightly reduced atmosphere.
Color
The homogenous mixture of accurately pre-defi ned pro- portions of manganese oxide with grey-red baking lös- sial clay is responsible for the black colour of the brick. The colour ranges from mainly charcoal to pitch-black.
